The daily NAP — short for "Nominate A Pick" — is our single highest-conviction horse racing selection. Only one NAP is published per day, anchored on this page at #nap; on quiet cards where nothing clears the threshold we publish none rather than force a pick.
Every runner in scope is scored against a composite of RPR, OFR, recent form on comparable surfaces, distance suitability and class movement. We layer in the going (soft, good-to-firm, heavy — going changes routinely flip our top pick), the draw where relevant, and current trainer and jockey strike rates at the specific course over the last 14 and 90 days. Trainers with a sub-10% live strike rate at the venue are downweighted regardless of the horse's raw rating.
Price is the final gate. The NAP has to trade at genuine value against our de-vigged fair line, which is why most NAPs land between roughly 2.00 and 5.00 — short enough for a real strike rate, long enough for the bet to pay. Every racing pick we publish is win-only; we no longer quote each-way angles.

Race-day NAP and value selections publish in the morning before the first UK or Irish meeting, with verified bookmaker odds at time of publication. Coverage focuses on UK and Irish jumps and flat meetings, with all-weather and major European festival days added when value is present.

Racing odds shown next to each tip are the live market price taken from regulated UK bookmakers at the moment of publication, primarily Bet365, William Hill and Paddy Power for the jumps and flat.
