This Privacy Policy explains how Scott Mac Media Limited ("we", "us", "our"), trading as King's Top Tips, collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit kingstoptips.co.uk (the "Site") or interact with our services. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are (Data Controller)

The data controller is Scott Mac Media Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14232211. Registered in England & Wales. Contact: support@kingstoptips.co.uk.

2. Personal Data We Collect

• Contact data, name, email and message when you use our contact form or email us directly.
• Marketing data, your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter, or opt in to promotional updates.
• Past promotion entries, the email address given to enter a past site promotion, which closed on 15 October 2026. It is never used for marketing.
• VIP subscription data, email address and account identifier when you subscribe to a paid VIP plan. We do not receive or store payment card details; VIP payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. under their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance.
• Technical data, IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, session timing and referral source, collected automatically via cookies and analytics.
• Approximate location, your country is derived from your IP address by a third-party lookup solely so we can show content, community links and promotional offers relevant to your market. The result is held in your browser for the session only and is not stored on our servers or linked to your identity.
• User-generated content, testimonials or community submissions you voluntarily provide.
• Sign-up source, If you accept analytics cookies and then create an account, we store how you first reached us (for example the referring website or campaign link) with your account, to understand which channels bring members.

3. Lawful Bases for Processing

• Consent, for marketing emails, non-essential cookies (including storing your sign-up source with your account if you accepted analytics cookies).
• Contract, to deliver VIP membership or respond to enquiries you have initiated.
• Legitimate interests, to operate, secure and improve the Site, prevent fraud, measure performance and keep records of past promotion entries.
• Legal obligation, to comply with UK law, including age-verification and consumer-protection duties.

4. Cookies

We use cookies in three categories. You can manage preferences via our cookie banner at any time.

• Essential, required for the Site to function (e.g. session, security, consent state). Always on.
• Analytics, Google Analytics 4 to understand usage and, if you then create an account, a record of how you first reached us saved with your account. Loaded only after consent.
• Marketing / Affiliate, tracking cookies from Gambling-Affiliation.com and partner bookmakers, set when you click affiliate links. See the GA cookie policy.

5. VIP Membership Data

VIP membership (from £6.99/week incl. VAT) is handled through Stripe Checkout and Stripe Billing. When you subscribe we receive a customer identifier, subscription identifier, billing email, billing country and the status of your subscription (active / past due / cancelled / current period end). We do not receive or store your card number, CVC or full bank information — these are held by Stripe, Inc. under their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance program. Cancellation is self-service via the Stripe-hosted Customer Portal accessed from your /account page; you may also cancel by emailing support@kingstoptips.co.uk. Because Stripe processes data in the United States, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and Standard Contractual Clauses for the international transfer of your subscription data.

6. Email Marketing

Newsletter emails go only to subscribers and each has an unsubscribe link. Email addresses given to enter a past site promotion (closed 15 October 2026) are never used for marketing and are deleted 12 months after it closed, or sooner if you ask.

7. Who We Share Data With

• Hosting & infrastructure — Vercel Inc. (front-end + CDN) and Supabase (authentication, database, edge functions, file storage).
• Payments — Stripe, Inc. processes all VIP subscription payments. We share your email, account identifier and country with Stripe to create your Customer record. We never receive your card details.
• Transactional email — Resend / Lovable Emails (sender domain notify.kingstoptips.co.uk) for welcome, payment-failed, cancellation and daily VIP picks emails.
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (aggregated, IP-anonymised) and IndexNow / Google Search Console for indexing.
• Affiliate networks — Gambling-Affiliation.com and individual bookmaker tracking systems when you click a partner link.
• Sports data — The Odds API (the-odds-api.com) for bookmaker odds and fixture data; no personal data of yours is shared with this provider.
• Legal authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.

We never sell personal data.

8. International Transfers

Some providers store data outside the UK/EEA (e.g. in the US). Where this happens, we rely on UK Adequacy Decisions, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure equivalent protection.

9. Data Retention

• Contact-form messages, up to 24 months, then deleted.
• Marketing emails, until you unsubscribe or request erasure.
• Past promotion entries, 12 months after the promotion closed.
• Analytics data, 14 months (GA4 default).
• Technical/log data, up to 12 months for security purposes.
• Sign-up source, kept with your account until you close it or ask us to delete it.

10. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

• Right of access, request a copy of the data we hold on you.
• Right to rectification, ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"), in certain circumstances.
• Right to restrict or object to processing.
• Right to data portability, receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Right to withdraw consent, at any time, where consent is the lawful basis.
• Right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

11. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, encrypted database storage and least-privilege service roles. No system is 100% secure; we will notify affected users and the ICO within 72 hours of any breach likely to result in risk to your rights.

12. Children

The Site is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Site and, where appropriate, email. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
