The Leopardstown Christmas Festival is a four-day jumps meeting in Dublin from 26 to 29 December, with several of the Irish season's top Grade 1 races. The Savills Chase, a Grade 1 staying chase over about three miles, is the feature, and the form often shapes the build-up to the Dublin Racing Festival and Cheltenham. Selections publish on the day of racing — see today's racing tips or the Leopardstown course page. 18+ BeGambleAware.
The Christmas Festival runs at Leopardstown, in south Dublin, over four days from 26 to 29 December. Each day has its own feature race, and in recent years the days have been named after them: Racing Post Chase Day, Paddy Power Chase Day, Savills Chase Day and December Hurdle Day. The order of the days is confirmed each year.
Race times and final fields are confirmed by the declarations before each day's racing, so the official racecard is the one to check on the day.
Leopardstown is a left-handed, galloping track. Its winter jumps form is among the most important in Ireland and often carries forward to the Dublin Racing Festival in February.
Mid-winter ground can turn testing. These are general notes about the course and time of year, not a forecast: check the official going on the morning of racing.
Racing TV shows Irish racing live; check the TV listings on the day for other coverage.
Any selections we make for the meeting publish on the morning of racing, with the horse, the price at publishing, the jockey and trainer and our written reasoning. See the Leopardstown racing tips page for the course guide and that day's picks, and NAP of the Day for our strongest pick on each racing day.
